Aeros enhances flight training with FlightLogger, streamlining operations and enabling flexible, data-driven processes to support students and instructors.

Company Background

Aeros is a leading modular flight training academy established in 1986, with four locations across England and Wales, in Cardiff, Gloucester, Leeds East & Wellesbourne.

Renowned for its structured Fast-Track modular training program for aspiring airline pilots, Aeros operates a diverse fleet of thirty two- and four-seat aircraft, Diamond DA40 & DA42, Tecnam P-Mentor, Alsim AL42 simulators, along with their traditional fleet of Piper and Cessna’s. Over the years, Aeros has delivered pilots to major airlines such as British Airways, Emirates, Jet2, Ryanair, Flybe, EasyJet, Whizz Air, Swiss Air, and Norwegian.

Recognized as one of the UK’s top modular flight training academies, Aeros continually seeks to modernize and optimize its operations to maintain its leadership in the industry.

Challenge

As a multi-campus flight training organization, Aeros faced the complexity of managing daily activities, student progress, and compliance across multiple locations. The reliance on paper-based workflows and fragmented systems created operational bottlenecks, limited transparency, and made reporting cumbersome.

Flight Instructors and operational leaders found it challenging to ensure that systems communicated effectively, leading to inefficiencies in scheduling, data management, and compliance readiness.

The need for flexible processes that could adapt to Aeros’s unique training methodologies, rather than forcing rigid workflows, was critical. Additionally, the ability to take ownership of data and present it in a way that supported instructors, students, and management was a growing priority as Aeros continued to evolve.

Solution

In 2019, Aeros selected the FlightLogger Platform to drive its digital transformation. The decision was rooted in FlightLogger’s reputation for collaboration, flexibility, and its ability to integrate with wider systems through a robust API.

After gathering the necessary business information, implementation was handled efficiently by FlightLogger staff, followed by a comprehensive two-day onsite training session for staff, instructors, and administrators. This ensured a smooth transition and prepared the entire team for the go-live date.

FlightLogger replaced Aeros’s paper workflows with a centralized, digital platform, optimizing daily activities and improving transparency across all five locations. The API integration empowered Aeros to connect its broader systems, enabling custom data presentations tailored to the needs of students, instructors, and management.

The platform’s flexibility allowed Aeros to adapt processes around its established training methodologies, rather than conforming to restrictive, out-of-the-box workflows.

FlightLogger’s support team, comprised of aviation professionals, provided responsive and knowledgeable assistance, fostering a collaborative relationship that extended beyond mere software provision.

Results

•  Significant reduction in paper-based workflows, streamlining daily operations  across five locations
• Improved reporting options, enabling Aeros to present data in formats that support operational and training needs
• Increased transparency for students, instructors, and management, enhancing the overall training experience
• Faster onboarding and digital transformation, with full platform implementation and training completed in a limited timeframe
• Greater operational flexibility, allowing Aeros to adapt processes to its unique training style and evolving requirements
• Reliable, proactive support from FlightLogger, ensuring continuous improvement and rapid problem resolution

Aeros shared that the relationship with FlightLogger has become about far more than simply using a training management platform. It’s about collaboration, flexibility, and building systems that genuinely work together to support both our students and our operation.

One of the biggest advantages has been the ability to integrate and connect their wider systems through the API, allowing them to take ownership of their data and present it in a way that works for Aeros, their students, and their team. That level of flexibility has been incredibly valuable as they continue to evolve and grow.

Mike Hoft, Chief Flight Instructor at Aeros, added:

“From an operational and training perspective, having systems that communicate effectively is hugely important. FlightLogger gives us the flexibility to adapt processes around the way we train, rather than forcing us into rigid workflows.

The ability to utilise the API and present data in a way that supports instructors, students and management has been a major advantage for us. Equally, their support team has always been approachable, proactive and invested in helping us succeed.”

Future Growth

The partnership between Aeros and FlightLogger has positioned Aeros to scale efficiently as it continues to grow and innovate in the competitive flight training sector. The ability to integrate new systems, adapt workflows, and maintain operational transparency ensures that Aeros can support more students and locations without increasing administrative overhead.

With FlightLogger’s ongoing support and platform flexibility, Aeros is future-proofing its operations, ready to embrace new opportunities and further enhance the training experience for the next generation of airline pilots.
