"In aviation, good instruction is essential. But today, it is no longer enough. The real difference lies in how training is measured, tracked and managed, fully aligned with CBTA principles."

About Simple Aviation Training

Simple Aviation Solutions operates SIMPLE AVIATION TRAINING (E-ATO-328), an Approved Training Organisation delivering Type Rating and Instructor (TRI/SFI) training for commercial pilots across Airbus and Boeing platforms, including A320, A330, and B737 programmes.

The challenge: when paper no longer keeps pace

The training itself was strong. The processes behind it were not built for the future. Paper-based documentation and manual tracking made it difficult to gain a complete, structured overview of trainee progress. As expectations around Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) increased, several limitations became clear:

  • Traceability across sessions required manual effort
  • Documentation for audits was time-consuming to compile
  • Structured competency data was difficult to extract
  • Real-time visibility for operators and stakeholders was limited

The solution: building a fully digital ATO

Simple Aviation Training implemented FlightLogger as its fully integrated training management platform, transitioning from paper-based workflows to a completely digital ATO environment — completed in record time. Trainee records, session documentation, and competency assessments were digitalised and structured according to ICAO and EASA CBTA principles.

Assessments moved from subjective impressions to evidence-based workflows, supported by real-time progress tracking, deployed across both Type Rating programmes and Instructor (TRI/SFI) training.

The results

Full digital traceability of every trainee, session, and competency

Immediate access to data during regulatory audits

Objective, evidence-based assessments aligned with CBTA

More efficient training planning, avoiding unnecessary hours

For Simple Aviation Training, digitalisation was not about replacing paper — it was about strengthening structure, transparency, and measurable performance, while preparing the organisation for future growth.
